I) Requirements
A. Completed application (word doc, rtf)
B. Curriculum Vitae (Professional Resume)
C. Proof of malpractice insurance (active by the time you plan to start practicing the LENS professionally)
D. Valid license, certification to practice in your area (MD, Psychologist, Social Worker, Massage Therapist, other) or equivalent (practice under supervision)
E. Basic computer competency (basic knowledge of Word & Excel, saving & transferring files, etc.)
F. Completed Examination
II) Certification in the LENS
A. Technician Level Certification (60 hours)
a) Hours are divided between education, clinical instruction and practicum (see syllabus for more detailed description)
b) Cost - $2500 – Cost of LENS training seminars may be deducted from this fee up to a maximum of $1800
c) Technician’s training is prerequisite for advanced
d) Training may be acquired by special arrangement with OchsLabs, Inc. or Stone Mountain Center on an hourly basis.
e) Technician level certificated holders are strongly suggested to practice under regular supervision of a clinician or mentor practitioner (fee to be arranged with supervisor)
B. Clinical Level Certification (120 hours)a) Hours divided between Education, Clinical Instruction and Practicum (see syllabus under advanced)
b) Total cost $5000 – or Technician certification plus $2500 - Cost of advanced training seminars plus clinical supervision @$150/hour with OchsLabs, Inc. or SMC may be deducted up to $1800 from this fee.
c) Emphasis at this level of certification is on clinical skills.C. Master Practitioner Certification (200 hours)
a) Hours divided between Education, Clinical Instruction and Practicum as well as supervised or observed teaching/training at seminars or conferences
b) Total cost $7500 – or Clinician level certification plus $2500
c) The emphasis at this level is to be able to provide supervision for technicians or clinicians; to present on the LENS at conferences and to teach LENS seminars for professionals in ways congruent with the LENS practitioners mission statement.
d) Hours and eligibility for this level to be arranged with Catherine Wills and Stephen Larsen.III) Continuing Education Requirements
A. In order to keep certifications active on an ongoing level, attending at least one professional LENS training event (minimum 3 days) per year, as provided by OchsLabs, Inc., Stone Mountain Center or at a major conference.
B. Strongly suggested (but not required) is documentation of attendance at a major biofeedback/neurofeedback conference - AAPB, ISNR, Winter Brain or other (required European or other brain and EEG based conference).
