OPEN HOUSE

Saturday – January 12th, 2008 from 2-5 PM

Topic: Helping the Brain to Regulate Itself

The Stone Mountain Center announces an Open House for anyone interested in our services or in making referrals. At each bi-monthly session we present a special topic and provide opportunities for observation and experience of EEG and related modalities.

Dr. Stephen Larsen will be presenting a perspective based on Dr. Len Ochs recent work on how the LENS form of neurofeedback helps the brain to balance and solve its own problems. PowerPoint slides & discussion.

Since 1996, Stone Mountain Center has been offering clinical neurofeedback services and training for clinicians. Following each Open House theme presentation, light refreshments are served. Call our home office for details.

We also have a satellite office located in Manhattan at 19 West 34th Street, and upstate affiliate offices located in Red Hook, Kingston and Tarrytown.

About LENS – Low Energy Neurofeedback System, developed by Dr. Len Ochs:

In this treatment the Central Nervous System self-regulates and reorganizes in a gentle way that leads to beneficial and integrative changes.  Good results have been obtained with this method with an amazing variety of problems, beginning with Autism and ADD/ADHD in children, up through PTSD, Closed Head Injury, Substance Abuse, Depression and Anxiety.  People with volatile emotional fluctuations report a stabilization; in some cases there is a diminution of “chatter” or annoying music in the mind; the person feels more “in-control”.  Even for people of relatively normal CNS functioning, work with LENS yields increases in the areas of Force (mental and physical energy), Focus (clarity and sharpness) and Feeling (positive emotional state).

Stone Mountain Center is located on Stone Mountain Farm near New Paltz, NY.

From NYC or areas south:
Take NYS Thruway (I 87) north to Exit 18 (New Paltz). Make a left onto Rt. 299 and follow it through the town of New Paltz. At the 4th traffic light turn right onto Rt. 32N; continue about 5 miles, cross the steel bridge over the Wallkill River and turn left onto River Road. Go to the stop sign and continue straight ahead crossing over Springtown Rd. and onto River Road Extension. There is a tall green sign saying “Stone Mountain Farm” and a dead end sign at the entrance of River Road Ext. Follow the road going underneath an old railroad trestle. Continue on the gravel road another ¼ mile and make a right up the driveway to the building at the top of the drive. Park in the circular parking lot.

If coming from the Kingston/Woodstock area:
take Rt. 32S through Rosendale, up hill into Tillson. Make right onto Tillson Rd. (Postage Inn is on the left). Go to the stop sign & make a left; then go another ½ mile and make a right onto River Road Ext. Proceed as above. Please contact us at 845-658-8083 if you have any questions.
